Preventive Maintenance (PM)

Preventive Maintenance (PM) is periodically operation that intend to

  1. Keep equipment in good conditions for their operation
  2. Prevent any problems
  3. Suggest customer the way to improve the network

To complete all necessary criteria for maintenance, TCS specify our PM standard as follows.

Preventive Maintenance Tasks

  1. Configuration and Asset Management
    • Equipment List
    • Collect equipment property such as Serial Number, Software Release and location
    • Collect configuration parameter
  2. Environmental Management
    • Check the condition of environment such as temperature, humidity, air flow, electrical power and cleanness
    • Verify good condition for installation area
  3. Equipment healthy management
    • Verify good condition of the physical connectivity such as communication cable, power cable
    • Verify good condition of equipment mounted
  4. Monitor the status of equipment operation.
    • Verify good condition of LED display that will show the status of equipment operation
    • Check equipment statistic by using its management command for example CPU/memory utilization, boot status, error logging and self-test status

Documentation

  1. We have the check-list for the PM tasks that will assure our PM standard.
  2. We will deliver the following document to customer after completing PM tasks:-
    • Equipment list and configuration parameter (in soft copy format)
    • Result of equipment and network status.
    • Recommendation

Limitations and constraints

  1. TCS reserve the right to deny any PM tasks if we face the following condition
    • Customer cannot provide the available time for PM task.
    • Customer denies TCS to do that task.
    • Customer does not know the equipment location.
    • The equipment are out of warranty
    • The location is risky.
  2. Cleaning the installation area is not included.
  3. Reinstallation or reconfiguration is not included.
